A name that says exactly what it is: who built this, and how it was built. No committee. No agency. Just a backend engineer who takes the craft seriously.

The lowercase choice

Lowercase was not an accident.

Uppercase shouts. It wants to be noticed. Lowercase builds trust — it says the work speaks for itself.

The companies that shaped the modern internet — those started by builders, not marketing teams — chose lowercase. It communicates modernity without trying to be modern.

hc instead of HC — approachable, human, geometric. The same reason engineers prefer snake_case over SCREAMING_CASE.

Anatomy

Three elements. One identity.

Every line, curve, and accent in the mark is placed with purpose. Here is what each component does and why it is there.

The h — Structure + Flexibility

Two uprights connected by a Bézier arch. The left upright grounds it; the arch carries motion upward before landing on the right. A letterform that holds tension between rigidity and flow — exactly what good architecture does.

The junction — Where things connect

A warm gold ellipse positioned exactly where h ends and c begins. In distributed systems, the most interesting problems happen at interfaces. The junction is that interface — the moment of contact between structure and openness.

The c — Open. Always reaching.

An arc built with a precise 30° opening on each side. It never fully closes — a system designed to connect, always with space to receive. APIs have endpoints; this letterform has openings.

The mark — Greater than the sum

Three elements that could not exist without each other. The h grounds it, the c opens it, and the gold junction gives it life. This is what good system design looks like: components coherent alone, powerful together.

Meaning

The color of midnight engineering sessions and enterprise-grade reliability. Dark enough to command authority, deep enough to feel considered.

Meaning

Not the bright yellow of attention-seeking — a muted, considered gold. The kind that comes from patience. Used sparingly so it always means something.

Clarity. Breathing room.

Meaning

Not pure white — that is sterile. A warm off-white that says this was designed by a human, for humans. A canvas that respects the work on it.

Typography

Space Grotesk.

Geometric. Clean. Slightly personal. Space Grotesk was designed with the same philosophy that drives this identity: structured, but not rigid.

Its letterforms have subtle quirks that humanize them — just enough personality to stand apart from pure-corporate grotesks, not enough to distract from the content.

The geometry of its letterforms echoes the geometry of the logo mark. When the two sit together they feel like they belong to the same system — because they do.
