What this platform is

Commuter is a free, experimental route discovery and commute data collection project. Its purpose is to collect commute preferences from Karachi professionals, identify whether practical route overlaps exist, and understand what trust model is needed before people can safely connect.

This platform is not a transport company, ride-hailing service, driver marketplace, taxi alternative, or employer of any driver. It does not dispatch drivers, arrange trips, or guarantee any commute.

Data we collect

When you submit a commute profile, we collect your name, email and/or phone number, optional LinkedIn URL, commute route preferences (expressway, pickup area, dropoff area), departure time, commute days, seat availability, gender preference, organisation name, and any notes you provide.

This data is stored securely and used only for match analysis and product development.

What is never shared publicly

  • ✕Your email address
  • ✕Your phone number
  • ✕Your LinkedIn profile
  • ✕Your exact origin or destination
  • ✕Any other personal contact details

What your match result shows

Your result page shows a count of possible commute overlaps — nothing more. No names, no contact details, no profile previews. This is non-identifying information derived from aggregate route and time data.

Future connection flow

A future version of this platform may allow users to express interest in connecting with a possible match. If and when this is introduced, both parties will need to explicitly consent before any personal information is revealed. The platform will clearly explain what will be shared at that point.

Important disclaimer

This platform does not guarantee safety, availability, or the success of any commute arrangement.

Any future commute arrangement — including pickup point, drop point, timing, fuel contribution, and any other terms — is entirely between the individuals involved. The platform has no role in facilitating, mediating, or overseeing those arrangements.

Use this platform and any resulting connections at your own discretion and judgement.
